A National Tribute to the Sons of the Pak Sar Zameen

Every day that passes, one cannot forget the blessed Army of Pakistan and its sacrifices for keeping Pakistan alive. Had it not been for our brave soldiers, the enemy would have long destroyed this country that Qaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (May Allah bless his Soul) sought so passionately for. The 6th of September is a day in particular where every patriot blooms with honour and pride for its armed forces.

Nationally celebrated as Defence Day, Youm-e-Difa, the day is celebrated for the victory that the soldiers of Pakistan achieved in the battles of Ghazwa-e-Hind in 1965. 48 years later and the difficulties that the soldiers overcame, the hardships which they faced, and their lives which they ultimately sacrificed are still remembered in awe. The celebrations are not vain; they re-ignite a passion within us, a flame is rekindled which reminds us of the love we have for our pure state, Pakistan. The sacrifices of the Armed Forces are a reminder that we must also be prepared to sacrifice our all if we are to save Pakistan.

We are living in a time where many are quick to misguide us to believe that the armed forces are responsible for the atrocities and the sufferings that are occurring. However, when one turns against its Army, one is in fact betraying one’s country. We are currently in a delicate state, despite the sheer bravery and fierce determination that beats through the veins of each and every soldier, the Pakistan Armed Forces are also in need of the support of their people; the people who they fight to keep safe day and night.

So on this Defence Day, we send a national salute to our brave sons of the Pak Sarzameen; may the sword of Hazrat Ali (RadhiAllahu ‘Anhu) be in your right hand, and may the courage of Khalid bin Waleed (RadhiAllahu ‘Anhu) be in your heart.

Oh, martyrs of the truthful path
The portraits of faithfulness
To you, the nation’s skies
Send their salutations
